Human

What’s a Human?

There are many theories regarding the origins of Human Beings.

They could be:

  • Evolved Apes
  • Descendants of Atlantis

Regardless of origin, the Creative Aspect is certainly a prevalent evolutionary advantage.

Wherever humans may come from, their conscious perception is also an undeniable trait to the human experience.

Unbiased by any egotistical logic, the core essence remains similar. Each human body is a macrocosm to countless bacteria and microorganisms. Decisions humans make affect trillions of other beings living within them, so there exists a vibration. This vibration fluctuates constantly, with the push and pull of the microcosm vs. the macrocosm. Different parts of a connected whole, converging together as a moment in time.

What’s the response? Humans are blessed with an abundance of ways to experience: life.

What are Human Senses?

Basic Sensory Systems

  • Sight
  • Sound
  • Smell
  • Taste
  • Touch

Sensory Integration Systems

  • Vestibular System
    • Balance & Orientation in Space
      • Semicircular canal system - related to detecting motion
      • Otolith - (part of an organism’s inner ear) - allows for the sensation of linear acceleration
  • Proprioception System
    • Sense of position, location, orientation, and movement of body muscles and joints
      • Combines sensory info from neurons in the inner ear with stretch receptors in muscles
      • Generally, humans don’t notice the proprioceptive sense because of disregard through habituation, desensitization, or adaptation sensory stimuli that is continually present.
  • Interoception System
    • Provides sense of what internal organs are feeling. (Hunger & Thirst for example)
      • Detects responses that guide regulation
      • Creates distinct feelings from the body such as:
        • pain, temperature, itch, muscular and visceral sensations, vasomotor activity, hunger, thirst, the need for air
    • Often neglected and so, frequently problematic.
      • Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), exists when sensory signals are either not detected or don’t get organized into appropriate responses.
      • Motor clumsiness, behavioral problems, anxiety, depression, school failure, and many other problems may impact those who do not have effective treatment.
      • The old-fashioned “couch potato” now turned “mouse potato” as people become “2-dimensional” (auditory and visual) with hyper-sensory technology

Interoception works the vestibular and proprioceptive senses to determine how an individual perceives their own body. Well-modulated interoception helps the individual detect proprioceptive and vestibular sensation normally.

To what I’ve experienced in life, it seems like we can all relate to a yearning of presence: to feel like our lives actually matter.
We’re all so capable of seeing each other, yet somehow, some have been conditioned to distort reality and it can seem like that is what’s real…
Coming back to our familiar origin, the essence of life itself, we can be reminded that we’re all just parts of an interconnected whole, living independent experiences that total into “reality”.
The entirety of our existences at large can be reduced to single points in higher dimensions.
Integrating inner flow with outer flow could be a path to enlightenment 🤷
